■ The 25th Climate Change Leadership Academy Begins Its 10-Week Program
On April 7, the opening ceremony of the 25th Climate Change Leadership Academy was held, marking the start of its 10-week educational program.
Operated by the Climate Change Center, the Climate Change Leadership Academy was established in 2008 as Korea’s first executive-level climate change program and has since produced 1,106 alumni who are opinion leaders across the public, private, industrial, and academic sectors. This year’s 25th program is being conducted under the theme, “From Declaration to Implementation: Opportunities and Strategic Choices Amid Intensifying Carbon Neutrality Competition.”

■ Ten Weeks of Exploring the Climate Crisis Agenda
The 25th curriculum has been designed around the key agendas that leaders must understand in an era when carbon neutrality implementation is accelerating. It will examine in depth the latest climate issues, including △industrial transformation △climate finance △carbon markets △global climate regulations △energy transition △climate technology, while exploring ways to turn climate risks into new business opportunities and strategic choices from an integrated perspective encompassing both mitigation and adaptation.

In particular, leading experts from each field will participate as speakers, including Climate Change Ambassador Kyungho Jong, Vice Chairman Seok Cho of HD Hyundai, Chairman Changseob Kim of the Electricity Commission, and President Changseok Lee of the National Institute of Ecology. Through lectures and exchange, participants will gain an understanding of the latest trends in the domestic and global climate agenda and consider practical solutions applicable to their organizations and industries.

■ Change Through the Connection of Leaders
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Jaechul Choi of the Climate Change Center stated, “Amid multilayered and complex crises such as the energy security crisis, climate response is now a matter of practical implementation tied to international legal responsibility and national interest,” adding, “I hope this program will serve as an opportunity for leaders in each field to jointly explore implementation strategies for a sustainable future.”

■ Putting Carbon Neutrality into Practice
Following last year, the entire 25th Climate Change Leadership Academy program will again be operated as a carbon-neutral event using the voluntary carbon market platform “aora.” The carbon emissions generated throughout the program will be calculated and fully offset through carbon credits secured from verified projects such as tree planting and clean cookstove distribution.

It is hoped that the upcoming 25th Climate Change Leadership Academy will continue discussions on climate crisis response and carbon neutrality implementation, while expanding opportunities for action and collaboration.
